German Wines Are Made for the Table — Here's How to Pour Them Right

🦞 Riesling (dry & off-dry) → Spicy Thai, Vietnamese, sushi, grilled salmon, soft cheeses. The acidity cuts through fat and cools down heat better than almost any other grape.

🍾 Riesling Sekt (Markus Molitor) → Oysters, smoked salmon, potato chips, anything fried. Bubbles + acidity = the ultimate appetizer wine.

🥩 Spätburgunder / Pinot Noir (Dautel, Ziereisen) → Roast chicken, duck, mushroom risotto, charcuterie. Lighter than Cab but more complex than most people expect.

🍷 Dornfelder (Windisch) → Burgers, BBQ ribs, tomato-based pasta. Easy-drinking, fruit-forward — your cookout bottle.

🧀 Kabinett & Feinherb styles → A little sweetness makes them perfect with spicy food, aged cheddar, or just on their own on a warm evening.
