The Molsino vineyard is a south-facing amphitheater on a rare vein of volcanic soil, providing perfect conditions to ripen nebbiolo. The grapes are hand harvested, destemmed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in large conical wooden vats. The wines are then aged in large slavonian casks that vary in size from ten to seventy-six hectoliters. The wine is very aromatic and high toned with a mixture of fresh and dried tart sour cherry, cranberry, herbs, cured meats, crushed rock, and turned earth. The palate is intense in its youth with firm, powerful tannins and bracing acidity, but the fruit shines through with some time in the glass. This wine will certainly age for a good long while. This wine is only made in the best vintages, and is an incredible find.
