It has been said many times, “It’s not what you know that counts, it’s who you know.” We prefer to think, “It's what you know AND who you know, that really counts.” Fortunately for us, owner Gary Fisch knows a lot about great wine, and he seems to know everybody in the California wine industry. Plus, his talent at striking a great deal is legendary.

For the Go Figure series, Gary began sourcing wines crafted by industry-leading winemakers who had a little extra left over from their own bottling. The results are stellar wines, hand-selected by Gary and team at significantly lower prices than at the winery itself. Because of this, we are not always able to disclose which wineries certain Lots come from.

Each series gets their own “Lot Number” depending on the vintage, the sites and the winemaker.

These Lots don’t last forever, though! Each Lot is a one-of-a-kind wine. So, once a Lot is sold out, it’s not coming back, which is why new Lots are always in the works.

2018 Go Figure Lot 81 Cabernet Sauvignon

Gary’s Wine Team Tasting Notes:

We have been tasting this wine since it was first bottled, and it is aging beautifully! It opens with vibrant aromas of blackberries, plum and blueberries. On the palate, the tannins are rounded and soft, balancing the fruity flavors, cassis, spices, tobacco and graphite notes that bring elegance to the wine. This wine is ready to drink now but has the structure to develop further in the years to come. ABV: 14.8%

2018 Go Figure Lot 83 Cabernet Sauvignon

Gary’s Wine Team Tasting Notes:

This wine shows why we love Napa Cabernet! It all starts with these aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry and black plum with sweet details of vanilla and clove. The palate does not disappoint, with layers of dark berry fruit, cinnamon, earth, and crushed gravel blended with cocoa nibs and dark chocolate accents. This red is perfectly balanced with soft and fine-grained tannins, lingering on a long, juicy finish. This wine is such a steal! ABV: 14.9%

2019 Go Figure Lot 84 Cabernet Sauvignon

Gary’s Wine Team Tasting Notes:

Right away this wine shows its beauty with its deep, gorgeous color! The palate is lush and generous with ripe fruit of red and black currants, cassis, spices and a touch of leather. The acidity brings freshness for balance and structure. This wine is aged in 100% French oak barrels, with 20% of them being new. This is a big wine that can be aged for years to come. This one you can buy a few cases of and enjoy it over the next several years! ABV: 14.7% 

2019 Go Figure Lot 88 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon


Gary’s Wine Team Tasting Notes:

This red is a stunner, and we love its generosity of rich flavors! It shows a remarkable concentration of aromas and flavors of black currant, black cherry, and blueberries along with hints of textbook Rutherford dust, graphite and cacao. The mid-palate displays a gorgeous core of rich fruit notes, vanilla bean, and toasted oak. It has velvety, well integrated tannins. This refined structure is a result of 20-months aging in 70% new French oak, which has allowed it to achieve a sophisticated balance. ABV 15.5%

2020 Go Figure Lot 90 Prichard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon

Gary’s Wine Team Tasting Notes:

The views from the top of this mountain of flavor do not disappoint! If you love mountain Cabs, Lot 90 is right up your alley. It’s an enticing blend of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and plums, with a subtle hint of graphite. On the palate, this red is lush and full-bodied, highlighting a powerful core of blackcurrant, blackberry compote, with a detail of iron-like minerality that adds structure. There are velvety and well-integrated tannins rounding it all together. Flavors of dark chocolate, espresso, and a hint of tobacco add further complexity. We could go on and on! The wine’s balance and depth suggest excellent aging potential, though it is already quite enjoyable now. ABV: 15% 

2021 Go Figure Lot 92 Cabernet Sauvignon


Gary’s Wine Team Tasting Notes:

The potential of this wine cannot be ignored! The nose shows beautifully with blackberry reduction, cassis, roses, violet, anise, and slate aromas with touches of thyme and pepper. This is a rich style of winemaking with a dense and lush mild palate showcasing flavors of cherry and berry fruits lingering on a granular finish encased with beautiful, integrated tannins. It might need a little time in the bottle, but the future of this wine is bright and delicious! ABV: 14.2%

2021 Go Figure Lot 91 Pinot Noir

Gary’s Wine Team Tasting Notes:

So bright! So fresh! This wine pops with aromas of citrus and fresh flowers. The palate is soft, with silky-smooth tannin and bright and refreshing acidity along with delicate yet complex flavors of cranberries, spices and forest floor. The finish is long with fresh fruit notes and a crisp acidity that keeps asking for another sip (or glass!). ABV: 13.6%
