GILLIAN SCIARETTA

CORPORATE WINE DIRECTOR, SPANISH, PORTUGUESE & ISRAEL CATEGORY MANAGER

Having worked at Wine Spectator magazine for 10 years as an editor and critic covering the wines of Spain, Portugal and Israel, I specialize at Gary’s in helping people discover wines from these parts of the world and beyond. I was born and raised in Bernardsville, NJ and graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration in 2007. To further my wine education, I completed in 2014 the level 3 advanced from the WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust). I enjoy traveling, cooking, playing drums and hiking, and live in New Vernon with my husband, Frank, and our three cats, Pinot, Brie and Croque Monsieur. If you see me at any of the stores, I’d love to chat with you about wine and help you find your next favorite bottle.

GERARD SHIRLEY

WINE SPECIALIST

I’ve had a long time passion for wine, learning all I could while pulling corks in my leisure time. After a long career in Graphic Arts producing projects for Ad Agencies and Financial corporations, I finally decided to pursue my passion and switch careers over to the wine industry. Prior to joining Gary’s, I held a management/sales position with a Sonoma company primarily working with California winery clients on the East Coast. During this time, I began pursuing my wine education with the WSET in New York working to level 4 Diploma. I love wine from all over the world and the significance it plays in global culture and cuisine. Next time you come to Gary’s in Wayne, I’d love to walk you through our broad selection of wines or sample a taste with you!

THOMAS KING

WINE ASSOCIATE

When I became old enough to purchase wine for myself, I began getting a different bottle every time I entered a wine show. Searching the shelves and trying bottles from every corner of the globe started subconsciously and grew slowly culminating in an epiphanic road trip down California’s Pacific Coast Highway. After that life altering expedition wine became my sole focus. I completed the Intensive Sommelier Training Program at the International Culinary Center in New York City and achieved the WSET Level 3 Certification in Wine. My greatest joy and passion is helping people discover great wines and spirits of the world and hopefully build a passion all their own. I would be ecstatic for the opportunity to show you a new favorite wine.
