Nino Negri Valtellina Superiore Inferno Ca Guicciardi

The farmhouse in the center of the property gave its name to the Vineyard. The cru is characterized by small valleys with very high slopes. Large outcropping rocks alternate with terraces supported by stone walls among the highest in Valtellina. The rock has a particular color tending to white (quartz) which considerably increases solar energy, resulting in higher temperatures and brightness than in other areas of the Valley and which contribute to enhancing the fruity character of the wine. The 2019 vintage began with a rather cold spring with late snowfalls that fell on the Nebbiolo shoots without causing consequences for the plant. The summer period began with average temperatures but with little rainfall. Only in September did the rains fall, restoring water supplies and allowing the Nebbiolo to reach perfect ripeness for the harvest.
