Ventisquero 'Vértice' Red Blend Apalta Vineyard Colchagua Valley

Winemaker’s Notes: Deep red with violet hues. The nose reveals black fruit, such as blackberries, intermingled with gentle spices, such as black pepper, damp earth, notes of native forest and a hint of graphite and soft spices. This wine has a firm structure and silky tannins. Its black fruit and spicy flavors, together with medium to high acidity lend it balance in the mouth and persistence in the finish.
Carmenere 50% Syrah 50%
"Vertice is a blend of carmenere (52%) and syrah (48%) from the highest vineyards (470 meters above sea level) of these varieties in Apalta, from vines that Ventisquero planted in that zone of Colchagua around the year 2000.
Aged in barrels for almost two years, this is a wine that has always privileged the fruit, but this vintage—from a warm year that made it difficult to obtain lighter wines—manages to show the fruitier side of the two varieties. A red that's juicy and yet has great depth—it’s intense, smooth, and friendly with no rough edges. Drink it now or cellar it for a few years." - 95 points, Descorchados
