74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Carmenère, 1% Petit Verdot

Wine Style

The weather in 2022 was exceptionally favourable for quality. The wine-growing season was particularly dry and warm, with a surplus of sunshine in the summer and a significant shortfall in rainfall. The early start to the harvest was a major feature of the vintage, as was the harvesting of the grapes, which lasted over a month. Extraction of the small berries was finely controlled to produce a magnificently fruity, fleshy, dense and immensely long wine, with rich, velvety tannins. Brane-Cantenac 2022 is also very fresh, thanks to the perfect balance between alcohol and pH. This is undoubtedly a legendary wine, like Brane-Cantenac 1946 and 1961. Henri LURTON dedicated it to the memory of his father Lucien, who died in March 2023, and considers it to be his greatest vintage.
